Welcome to Status Saver for WhatsApp("the App", "we", "our", or "us"), developed by Kelvin Kipkoech Chepkwony. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Android application.
By installing and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
2. What the App Does
Status Saver for WhatsAppis a utility app that helps you view, play, and save WhatsApp status updates (photos and videos) shared by your WhatsApp contacts to your device's gallery. The App reads media files that WhatsApp stores in your device's local storage — it does not interact with WhatsApp servers, your WhatsApp account, or any external network resource on your behalf.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be transparent: we collect no data. The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- WhatsApp messages, chats, or contact lists
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
- Any media files you view or save
All media accessed by the App resides exclusively on your local device and is never uploaded anywhere.
4. Permissions Required
The App requests the following Android permissions to function. These permissions are used solely on-device:
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO
Required to read WhatsApp status media files stored in your device's local storage. No files are sent off your device.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Required on Android 9 and below to save status media to your gallery. On Android 10+, scoped storage is used instead.
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 11+)
Required on some Android 11+ devices to access the WhatsApp statuses folder, which is outside the app's scoped storage area. This permission is used only to read WhatsApp status files — not to access any other files on your device.
You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's Settings > Apps > Status Saver for WhatsApp> Permissions. Revoking storage permissions will prevent the App from functioning.
5. WhatsApp and Third-Party Services
Status Saver for WhatsApp is an independent utility and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. The App reads only the media files that WhatsApp stores locally on your device after you have viewed a status within the WhatsApp app.
We do not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services. There are no in-app purchases or account registration requirements.
6. Data Storage and Security
Since the App does not collect any data, there is no user data stored on our servers — because we have no servers involved in the App's operation. All processing happens locally on your Android device.
Media files you choose to save are stored in your device's gallery using Android's standard MediaStore API, subject to your device's own security and encryption settings.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App collects no personal data from any user, no special risk exists regarding children's data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us — though we do not anticipate this occurring given our no-data-collection design.
8. Your Rights
Because we do not collect any personal data, most data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are not applicable in the traditional sense. However:
- Deletion: Uninstalling the App removes all App-related data from your device. Any media you saved to your gallery will remain there until you delete it manually.
- Control: You control all media on your device. The App only reads files that WhatsApp has already stored locally.

9. Compliance with Google Play Policies
The App is published on the Google Play Store and complies with Google Play's Developer Program Policies, including the requirements around sensitive permissions (storage access). 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
